Yannick and Brandon are the best ranked players for Germany and the USA. This meeting will be played on the indoor hard courts. Against Slovakia, Hanfmann faced Kovalik and won in three tight sets. After that, against Chile, Yannick upset Tabilo in straight sets. Nakashima reached the fourth round of the US Open, where he lost against Zverev in four sets. So far this season, Brandon has had some solid results, which have brought him back into the top 50. Nakashima won his opening match against Tabilo in three tight sets as we predicted. After that, against Slovakia, Brandon defeated Kovalik as we predicted.
We believe that Brandon is currently a better player than Hanfmann. Nakashima has won two solid matches so far in the Davis Cup. We believe that he will win comfortably against Hanfmann.
That being said, we believe that Nakashima will get the first win for the USA.
2nd potential matchup:
Maximilian Marterer – Mackenzie McDonald
Maximilian and Mackenzie are the second best ranked players for Germany and the USA. Marterer lost in the first round of the US Open against Zverev in four sets. Against Slovakia, Maximilian won against Klein in straight tight sets. Yesterday, against Chile, Maximilian won comfortably against Barrios Vera in straight sets. McDonald lost in the first round of the US Open against Sinner in four sets as we predicted. Mackenzie did not have much success this season, which led to him being out of the top 100 in the rankings. McDonald won his opening Davis Cup match against Klein in straight sets as we predicted.
McDonald spent most of his career playing on the indoor hard courts. We believe that he will get another solid win tomorrow against Germany. Marterer struggled throughout the whole season, so we believe that he will struggle against Mackenzie.
That being said, we believe that McDonald will win the second match for the USA.
3rd potential matchup:
Krawietz/Puetz – Ram/Krajicek
We expect Germany and the USA to play their doubles matches like this. Last week, the Germans played in the US Open final, where they lost against Purcell and Thompson in straight sets. Against Slovakia, Krawietz and Putz won their doubles match in straight sets. Yesterday, against Chile, Krawietz and Puetz defeated the Chileans in straight sets. Krajicek and Ram played at the Olympic Games together. They reached the final, where they fell short against Ebden and Peers in three tight sets. Both of them have been playing together for a while now. Yesterday, against Slovakia, Krajicek and Ram won against Gombos and Klein in three tight sets.
The Americans will be better players under these conditions. We believe that they are in better form currently, and that they will win against the Germans tomorrow.
That being said, we believe that Ram and Krajicek will get the third win for the USA.
Best Bet to Make
The Germans are without Zverev, so they will have it hard this year at the Davis Cup. The Americans currently have better singles players, so we believe that they will prevail in this matchup.
That being said, America winning 3-0 is a value bet.
