Beatriz Haddad Maia has won four of her last five matches. Beatriz struggled in her opening match against Avanesyan. However, after that, Haddad Maia won her second and third round matches easily. Yesterday in the third round, Beatriz won against Kalinskaya, who is a top 15 player in straight sets. With her current result here in New York, Haddad Maia will become a top 20 player. Last year in New York, Haddad Maia lost in the second round against Townsend.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Both players have played great tennis so far in the tournament. However, we believe that experience will prevail in this match, so we will back Wozniacki up given her experience playing at the highest level.

Her toughest match ranking-wise should have been against Pavlyuchenkova in the third round. However, Swiatek had an amazing serving performance, not offering any breakpoints, and winning the match in clean straight sets. Last year at the US Open, Iga lost in the 1/8-Final against Ostapenko.
Liudmila Samsonova has won four of her last five matches. So far in the tournament, Samsonova has lost only one set, which was in her second round match against Bouzkova. Liudmila won her third round match against Krueger 6-1 and looked great on the court. Last year in New York, Samsonova lost in the third round against Keys.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Iga is the big favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. However, Samsonova showed great tennis in her last match, and if she could repeat that performance, we believe that she will give Iga trouble.
