ATP US Open 1/8-Finals
Draper – Machac: 02.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 0-3
Jack Draper has won four of his last five matches. In his opening match here in New York, Zhang retired mid-match against Draper. After that, in the second round, Draper defeated Diaz Acosta in straight sets as we predicted. Draper also dominated in his third round match against Van de Zandschulp, winning in straight sets. So far this season, Jack won his maiden title in Stuttgart, and finished as a runner-up in Adelaide at the beginning of the season. Draper is currently the best ranked British player, so the fans will expect him to perform in New York. Last year at the US Open, Draper reached the 1/8-Finals, when he lost against Rublev in four tight sets.
Tomas Machac has won three of his last five matches. Here in New York, Machac defeated Fognini in straight sets in the first round. Machac lost his serve only once. Other than that, Tomas had an excellent serving performance throughout the whole match. This win was also his first main-draw win here in New York. In the second round, Machac upset Korda in straight sets. Tomas was unstoppable from the very start of the match. Tomas defeated Goffin in the third round in straight sets as we predicted. Last year at the US Open, Machac lost in the final qualifying round against Gojo in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Draper is the slight favorite in this matchup. Tomas is yet to lose a set here in New York. Both players showed great tennis so far in the tournament. We expect a tight match that could go either way.
That being said, Machac covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Sinner – Paul: 02.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-1
Jannik Sinner has won eight straight matches. Here in New York, Jannik won his first round match against McDonald in four sets as we predicted. After that, in the second round, Sinner defeated Michelsen in straight sets as we predicted. The world number 1 won his third round match against O´Connell in straight sets as well. Last year in New York, Jannik lost in the fourth round against Zverev in five tough sets.
Tommy Paul has won three of his last five matches. Paul dominated in his opening match against Sonego. Besides losing the third set 5-7, Paul looked sharp throughout the whole match. After that, in the second round, Purcell retired in the third set against Paul. Tommy lost the first set against Diallo in the third round, but stayed calm and turned the match around. The Americans are expecting a lot from him, especially because he will have the help of the home crowd. Last year in New York, Tommy reached the 1/8-Finals where he lost against his fellow American, Ben Shelton, in four sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Sinner is the big favorite in this matchup. We believe that he will win this match, but Paul should be able to keep this match tight and make Sinner work for the win. With the help of the home crowd, we believe that Paul will make things interesting tomorrow.
That being said, Paul covering the games handicap is a value bet.
