Juncheng Shang has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Winston-Salem, Shang withdrew from his 1/8-Final match against Sonego. Here in New York, Shang defeated Bublik in a five-set thriller. Juncheng was 1-2 down, but managed to stay calm and turn the match around. After that, in the second round, Shang defeated Carballes Baena in straight sets as we predicted. So far this season, Shang has not have any remarkable results, but stayed consistent throughout the whole season, which led to him being part of the top 100 in the rankings.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Casper is the favorite in this matchup. Shang is a young Chinese prospect, who has shown great tennis so far here in New York. We believe that he will have a decent chance against Casper, and keep this match tight.
That being said, Shang covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Ben Shelton has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Cincinnati, Ben had a solid performance, reaching the quarterfinals. He lost there against Zverev in three tight sets. Here in New York, Shelton dominated against Thiem in the opening round. After that, in the second round, Shelton defeated Bautista-Agut in straight sets as we predicted. Ben is defending semifinals points from last year. Last year in New York, Ben lost against Djokovic in the semifinals.
Frances Tiafoe has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Cincinnati, Frances reached the final where he lost against the number 1, Jannik Sinner, in straight sets. It was the best tournament this season for a young American. Tiafoe looked sharp throughout the whole tournament. Yesterday in the first round, Tiafoe defeated Kovacevic in four tight sets. In the second round, Shevchenko retired mid-match against Tiafoe. His biggest result here in New York was reaching the semifinals two years ago. Last year in New York, Frances reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Shelton in four tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Ben is the slight favorite in this matchup. Both players tend to be inconsistent, so expect a roller coaster type of match. We believe that this match could go either way.
