ATP US Open 1/32-Finals
Nakashima – Cazaux: 28.08.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 0-1
Brandon Nakashima has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Cincinnati, Nakashima reached the 1/8-Finals, when he lost against Rublev in straight sets. En route to the 1/8-Finals, Brandon won against Fritz and Fils, who are solid hard-court players. Here in New York, Brandon won his first round match against Rune in straight sets. At the beginning of the season, Nakashima spent most of his time at the challenger tour level. However, his consistent tennis pushed him back into the top 50. Last year at the US Open, Brandon lost his first round match against Djere in straight sets.
Arthur Cazaux has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Winston-Salem, Arthur lost in the second round against Hijikata in three tight sets. Here at the US Open, Arthur won his first round match against Carreno-Busta convincingly in straight sets. Cazaux was dominant from the very start, and lost only seven games throughout the match. Last year in New York, Arthur lost in the first round of the tournament against Rublev in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Nakashima is the favorite in this matchup. Both players did a great job in the first round. Cazaux can win against anyone when he plays his best tennis. We believe that he will continue in this fashion, and have a decent chance against Rublev tomorrow.
That being said, Cazaux covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Arthur Cazaux +4.5 games handicap @1.83 @bet365
Muller – Zverev: 28.08.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Alexandre Muller has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Winston-Salem, Muller reached the second round where he lost against Kotov in three tight sets. Here in New York, Alexandre won his first round match against the young Aussie, Walton, in four sets. This was also his maiden main-draw win at the US Open. Last year at the US Open, Muller lost his first round match against Djokovic in straight sets.
Alexander Zverev has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Cincinnati, Sascha reached the semifinals where he lost against Sinner in three tight sets. It was overall a very solid tournament for him to prepare for the US Open. Here in New York, Sascha dominated against Marterer in the first round as we predicted. In 2020, Zverev played his first ever Grand Slam final. It was here in New York when he lost against Thiem in five sets, after he was 2-0 up. Last year at the US Open, Zverev lost in the quarterfinals against Alcaraz in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Zverev is obviously the big favorite in this matchup. Zverev is one of the biggest favorites at the moment to win the US Open. We believe that he will dominate from the very start, and win his second round match easily.
That being said, Zverev covering the games handicap is a value bet.
