Thanasi Kokkinakis has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Montreal, Kokkinakis reached the second round as a qualifier. He lost against Hurkacz in three tight sets. It was a solid tournament preparation for the Aussies. Kokkinakis is looking for a solid result here in New York to cement his top 100 status. Last year at the US Open, Kokkinakis was upset by Hsu in the first round.

According to the bookies, Stefanos is the favorite in this matchup. Tsitsipas is out of form, and with his coaching changes, we are not sure how he will look on the court.
