After that, in the 1/8-Finals, Zverev defeated Carreno-Busta in two tight sets. Last year in Cincinnati, Alexander lost in the semifinals against Novak Djokovic in two tight sets. Zverev usually performs well in this part of the season.
Ben Shelton has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Montreal, Shelton lost against Popyrin in straight sets. Here in Cincinnati, Ben has lost only one set so far in the tournament. It was in the second round where he won against Etcheverry in three tight sets. Yesterday, in the 1/8-Finals, Shelton defeated Marozsan in easy straight sets. Last year in Cincinnati, Ben lost in the second round against Tsitsipas in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Zverev is the favorite in this matchup. Zverev is in great form, so we believe that he will continue in that fashion. He is also a better player on the biggest stage such as this one, so we believe that he will win easily tonight.
That being said, Zverev covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Jack Draper has won three of his last five matches. The Brit has been struggling for the last couple of months. He finds it hard to stay consistent. Two weeks ago in Montreal, Jack lost his first round match against Thompson as we predicted. Here in Cincinnati, Jack won all of his matches in three sets. Yesterday, in the 1/8-Finals, Draper won against Auger-Aliassime, after he was one set behind. So far this season, Draper had a great grass court part of the season. He won the title in Stuttgart on grass, which was also his only title this season.
Holger Rune has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Montreal, Rune lost in the 1/8-Finals against Zverev. Here in Cincinnati, Holger defeated Berrettini in the first round of the tournament. After that, Rune had it easier in the second round against Borges. Yesterday, in the 1/8-Finals, Rune defeated Monfils in three tight sets. He spent over two hours on the court. Last year in Cincinnati, Rune retired in the second round of the tournament.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. En route to the quarterfinals, Draper had tougher opponents than Rune. He showed great resilience yesterday, and we believe that he is overall a better player than Rune when it comes to the most important points.
That being said, Draper winning is a value bet.
