ATP Montreal Best Bets Including Nishikori vs Tsitsipas

Kei Nishikori

ATP Masters 1000 Montreal 1/16-Finals

Etcheverry – Rublev: 08.08.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting

Tomas Martin Etcheverry has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Etcheverry lost in the second round of the Olympic Games against Safiullin. Here in Montreal, Tomas defeated Jarry in three tight sets. Etcheverry played defensive tennis, which paid off. He spent almost three hours on court yesterday. So far this season, Etcheverry has had his biggest results on clay. He has only played big tournaments on hard courts this season. Being an Argentinian, Tomas rarely plays on fast surfaces.

Andrey Rublev has won three of his last five matches. After his recent disappointing results, Andrey stepped up last week in Washington. He reached the quarterfinals, where he lost against Tiafoe in straight sets. At the beginning of the season, Rublev won the title in his first tournament of the season, which was in Hong Kong. After that, Andrey reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, where he lost against Sinner in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Rublev is the favorite in this matchup. Tomas is a great clay court specialist. However, his game does not fit this surface at all. We believe that Rublev has regained self-confidence, and that he will be a better player on the court tomorrow.

That being said, Rublev winning in straight sets is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Andrey Rublev winning 2-0 @1.83 @bet365

Nishikori – Tsitsipas: 08.08.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-1

Kei Nishikori has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Kei lost in the first round of the Olympic Games against Draper in straight sets. His fitness level is still questionable, but Kei is fighting hard to compete at the highest level. The former world number 4 has already played in one Masters tournament this season. It was in Miami, where he lost against Ofner in the first round of the tournament. Here in Montreal, Nisikori defeated Michelsen in the first round of the tournament. His biggest result here in Montreal was in 2015, when he reached the semifinals.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Stefanos reached the quarterfinals at the Olympic Games where he lost against Djokovic in straight sets. His last hard court match was in Miami in March, where he lost against Shapovalov in straight sets. So far this season, Tsitsipas has not have any remarkable results on the hard courts. Last year in Toronto, Stefanost lost in the second round against Monfils in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Stefanos is the big favorite in this matchup. Kei had a tough first round match, so we believe that he will be exhausted from this match. Stefanos had a couple of days’ rest, so we believe that he will be fresh and win this match easily.

That being said, Tsitsipas winning in straight sets is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Stefanos Tsitsipas winning 2-0 @1.67 @bet365
