Katerina Siniakova in action ahead of the WTA Ningbo Open.

Two Mixed Doubles teams are going into the Gold Medal match at the Paris Olympics. They’re both guaranteed a medal, but only one will win Gold. Bu which will it be? We share our thoughts on the match. Predicting this match are Jordan Reynolds, Shane Black, and Andreas Pelekis. Who do you think will win?

Paris Olympics Mixed Doubles Bronze Medal Prediction

Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac vs Xinyu Wang and Zhizhen Zhang

Jordan:
Zhang and Wang have been the surprise package of the mixed doubles. The Czech pair are the favourites and the pressure is on them. However, Siniakova is so experienced on big stages like this in doubles. If her boyfriend Machac is nervous, she is the ideal doubles partner to have to get through those moments. They should be able to seal gold with another commanding performance.
Prediction: Siniakova and Machac in 2

Shane:
Machac has proven to be a doubles force this week, playing into the final four in both brackets. Siniakova is a nine-time Grand Slam doubles champ, including three at Roland Garros. The Czechs have been a formidable pairing, and I expect them to roll here.
Prediction: Siniakova and Machac in 2

Andreas:
Siniakova has proved to be one of the best doubles players in the world, and her skill at the net has combined well with Machac’s power. A couple off the court, the pair will surely want to claim the Czech Republic’s first Gold Medal of the Games. The pair hasn’t dropped a set, while their opponents have gone the distance in this tournament’s three matches. While Wang has a Grand Slam title to her name in doubles at the 2023 French Open, her partner Zhang is less experienced. Look for the Czech duo to win this one and claim the Gold.
Prediction: Siniakova and Machac in 2
