The once 32-team draw has dwindled to the semifinals at the 2024 Paris Olympics as some of the top teams in the world vie for Gold. In this article, we predict Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek vs. Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram. As always, we at LWOT have our roundtable thoughts for this match. Shane Black, Damian Kust, and Jordan Reynolds offer their insights. But who will advance to the final?
Paris Olympics Men’s Doubles Semifinals Predictions
Tomas Machac & Adam Pavlasek vs Austin Krajicek & Rajeev Ram
Shane
In the Americans’ quarterfinal win over Alcaraz and Nadal, we saw what typically happens when a true doubles team squares off against two singles players. Krajicek and Ram were clinical, and under the tutelage of the Bryan brothers, they had a clear game plan for every match. Machac and Pavlasek have played some great tennis at the Paris Olympics, but I do not believe they have the consistency to keep up with the Americans.
Prediction: Krajicek/Ram in 2
Damian
The Czechs were one of the most interesting “wild card” duos in the event, and after impressing separately the entire year, they’re now hitting it off with each other, too. But can they take down Krajicek/Ram as well? Maybe not, as the top-quality doubles specialists from the States are finally finding some chemistry right now.
Prediction: Krajicek/Ram in 3
Jordan
The Czech pair have gelled impressively so far. Yet, I am backing Ram and Krajicek’s immense experience to reach the final. The two know how to deal with big occasions, and their playing styles combine perfectly. It should be an entertaining match, no matter which pair wins.
Prediction: Krajicek/Ram in 2
