ATP Olympic Games doubles quarterfinals
Alcaraz/Nadal – Krajicek/Ram: 31.07.2024 19:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Alcaraz and Nadal played their first match together here at the Olympic Games. Yesterday, Rafael lost his second round match in the singles competition against Djokovic in straight sets. However, he had enough energy for his doubles match with Alcaraz. In their 1/16-Finals match, Carlos and Rafael won in straight sets against Gonzalez/Molteni. They looked great together on the court. Yesterday in the 1/8-Finals, Carlos and Rafael had it tough against Griekspoor and Koolhof as we predicted. They fought for over two hours, but managed to win in three tight sets.
Krajicek/Ram have won four of their last five matches. Last week in Hamburg, Rajeev and Austin reached the semifinals where they lost against Reboul/Roger-Vasselin in straight sets. Here in Paris, Krajicek and Ram are yet to lose a set. In the first round, Krajicek/Ram won against the Aussies, de Minaur/Popyrin, in straight sets. Yesterday in the 1/8-Finals, Krajicek and Ram won against Monteiro/Seyboth Wild in straight sets as well. However, this time, Krajicek and Ram offered five breakpoints, and were not that brilliant on the serve.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Alcaraz/Nadal are the favorites in this matchup. Krajicek and Ram have been playing together for a long time now. Both of them are great doubles players, so we believe that they will keep this match tight.
That being said, Krajicek/Ram covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Krajicek/Ram +2.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365
ATP Washington 1/16-Finals
Albot – Shelton: 01.08.2024 01:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Radu Albot has won three of his last five matches. Here in Washington, Albot reached the main-draw tournament as a qualifier. In the first main-draw round, Radu defeated Diaz Acosta in two tight sets. So far this season, Albot has played only two main-draw second round matches. He lost both of them. Last year in Washington, Radu lost in the second round of the tournament against Wolf in straight sets.
Ben Shelton has won three of his last five matches. This is his second tournament after Wimbledon, where he lost in the 1/8 Final against Sinner in straight sets. Last week in Atlanta, Ben was upset by the youngster Shang in straight sets in the 1/8-Finals. Last season, Ben had a breakthrough year. However, so far this season, Ben has not had any remarkable results. Last year in Washington, Ben lost his first round match against Shang in three tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Shelton is the big favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Radu had an easy draw up until now. This will be his first match against a solid hard-court player. Ben is out of form, but he is a great hard-court player, so we believe that he will win easily tonight.
That being said, Shelton winning in straight sets is a value bet.
