So far this season, Sonego has had a poor clay court season. His recent losses and poor performances led to him being outside the top 50. Last year in Umag, Sonego reached the semifinals where he lost against Wawrinka in straight sets.

According to the bookies, Cerundolo is the favorite in this matchup. We believe that he has shown better tennis throughout the tournament so far. We also believe that he is a better clay court player than Sonego.

His biggest result this season was reaching the quarterfinals in Barcelona. Lajovic is looking to get a solid result here in Umag to get into the top 50 in the rankings. Dusan won his maiden ATP title here in Umag in 2019.
Lorenzo Musetti has won four of his last five matches. The last match he played was at Wimbledon, where he lost in the semifinals against Novak Djokovic in straight sets. Musetti took some time off to get rested for the second part of the season. Here in Umag, Lorenzo won his first match against Trungelliti in straight sets. So far this season, Musetti has not had any remarkable results on clay. Last time he played in Umag was in 2022, where he lost in the 1/8-Finals against Cecchinato in straight sets.

According to the bookies, Lajovic is the big underdog in this matchup. However, Lajovic played great tennis in the second round against Cobolli. He already lifted the title here in Umag, so we believe that he will keep this match tight as well.
