ATP 250 Atlanta 1/8-Finals
Karatsev – Tiafoe: 25.07.2024 01:00 CEST
H2H: 1-2
Aslan Karatsev has lost four of his last five matches. Before ATP Atlanta, Karatsev played his last match at Wimbledon where he retired mid-match against Khachanov. Here in Atlanta, Aslan won his first round match against Harris in easy straight sets. Karatsev was unplayable in that match, having 20 winners with only 3 unforced errors. Due to injuries, Aslan has played only 9 matches this season so far. He is looking to get a decent result here to get back into the top 100 right before the US Open.
Frances Tiafoe has won three of her last five matches. His last match was at Wimbledon, where he lost against Alcaraz in five tight sets as we predicted. His last hard-court match was in March in Miami where he lost against O´Connell in straight sets. So far this season, Tiafoe has not have any remarkable results. However, with his recent decent match against Alcaraz, we believe that Tiafoe will get some self-confidence back and perform in front of his own fans.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Karatsev is the underdog in this matchup. Both players are out of form at the moment. However, Karatsev has already played one match here in Atlanta, and has shown great tennis. We believe that he will have a decent chance against Tiafoe, so we believe that he will keep this match tight.
That being said, Karatsev covering the games handicap is a value bet.

McDonald – Nishioka: 25.07.2024 02:30 CEST
H2H: 2-4
Mackenzie McDonald has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Newport, McDonald reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Opelka in three tight sets. Here in Atlanta, McDonald performed well in his first round match against Nakashima, winning in straight sets. Mackenzie was great under pressure, saving all three breakpoints successfully. The American was struggling a lot this season, and is currently on the verge of losing the top 100 spot. Last time he played in Atlanta was in 2022 when he lost in the second round of the tournament.
Yoshihito Nishioka has won three of his last five matches. Three weeks ago at Wimbledon, Nishioka lost in the second round against Mpetshi Perricard in straight sets. Here in Atlanta, Nishioka performed well in the first round, winning against Svajda in straight sets. Nishioka lost his serve only once, at the beginning of the first set. However, after that, Yoshihito served well and won in straight sets. Last year in Atlanta, Nishioka lost his second round match against Vukic in three tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, McDonald is the slight favorite in this matchup. Both players are out of form, with a similar playing style. We expect a long and tight match for both players.
That being said, over games is a value bet.
