ATP 250 Gstaad 1/16-Finals
Hanfmann – Dzumhur: 16.07.2024 10:30 CEST
H2H: 1-1
Yannick Hanfmann has lost four of her last five matches. The last match he played was at Wimbledon two weeks ago, where he lost in the first round against Jannik Sinner. His last clay court match was over a month ago at the challenger tournament in Heilbronn where he lost against Choinski in the first round. So far this season, Yannick has not had any remarkable results. His form is terrible, and he is also outside the top 100 at the moment. Last year in Gstaad, Hanfmann reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Medjedovic in straight sets.
Damir Dzumhur has lost three of his last five matches. The last match he played was two weeks ago at Wimbledon, where he retired mid-match against Moro Canas in the final qualifying round. His last clay court match was over a month ago when he won the title at the challenger tournament in Zagreb. Dzumhur played great tennis in Zagreb, and is currently on the verge of breaking into the top 100. So far this season, Dzumhur has won three challenger titles. This will be his first appearance in Gstaad.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Dzumhur is the underdog in this matchup. He had way better clay court performances this season than Hanfmann. Damir is a solid clay court specialist, and we believe that he will have a decent chance at winning against Hanfmann tomorrow.
That being said, Dzumhur covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Damir Dzumhur +2.5 games handicap @2.00 @bet365
Wawrinka – Klein: 16.07.2024 17:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Stanislas Wawrinka has lost three of his last five matches. The last match he played was two weeks ago at Wimbledon, where he lost against Gaël Monfils in straight sets. His last clay court match was at the French Open where he lost against Kotov in four sets as we predicted. Stan will turn 40 next year, and his fitness is declining rapidly. So far this season, Wawrinka is yet to win consecutive matches. Last year in Gstaad, Wawrinka lost against Munar in the second round of the tournament.
Lukas Klein has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Braunschweig, Klein lost his second round match against Carballes Baena in straight sets. So far this season, Lukas has not have any remarkable results. He is looking to improve his form to get into the top 100. Klein spent most of the season playing at the challenger tour level. However, he did not have any success there either.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Klein is the slight underdog in this matchup. Both players are out of form, but the main difference is that Klein is only 26 years old, and still has a lot to prove. On the other hand, Stan is struggling with his fitness and footwork, so we believe that he will lose this match.
That being said, Klein winning is a value bet.
