Wimbledon Day 4 Women’s Predictions Including Iga Swiatek vs Petra Martic

Iga Swiatek in action at the WTA Indian Wells Open.

Katie Boulter vs Harriet Dart is an All-British matchup in the second round of Wimbledon, while Iga Swiatek takes on Petra Martic. Our panelists prediction every match at Wimbledon.

Iga Swiatek vs Petra Martic

Jordan Reynolds: Martic does not possess the firepower to hurt Swiatek. She will probably try and play more aggressively than normal, but it will not make a difference. The world No. 1 to progress comfortably. Swiatek in 2

Yesh Ginsburg: Petra Martic is a good player. And maybe she can trouble Swiatek on grass. But I wouldn’t count on it. Swiatek in 2

Cristina Bucsa vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro

Jordan: Can Bouzas Maneiro back up her amazing win against Marketa Vondrousova? Her compatriot Bucsa will not make it easy with her flat shots and consistency. The 19-year-old’s level may drop in this match, as so often happens to a young player after a shock victory. Bucsa in 3

Yesh: What an upset by Bouzas Maneiro to get here. It was incredible, and I think it can continue. Bucsa isn’t an amazing opponent on grass. Bouzas Maneiro in 3

Liudmila Samsonova vs Elina Avanesyan

Jordan: Avanesyan, who is usually not comfortable on grass, will probably already consider reaching the second round to be a success. There is no pressure on her against Samsonova, who is a major favourite. Her serve and firepower is very likely to overwhelm Avanesyan on grass. Samsonova in 2

Yesh: This match deserves to be deeper than Round 2. Both women have incredible potential. Samsonova has a higher peak, but Avanesyan is more consistent. Samsonova in 2

Katie Boulter vs Harriet Dart

Jordan: These two had a very close match at the start of the grass-court season in Nottingham, which Boulter won in three sets. Dart is capable of threatening once again if she finds her best level. Overall, it is still hard to go against Boulter on her favourite surface, but Dart will make it tough. Boulter in 3

Yesh: This is an all-British matchup, but one of the Brits is clearly better than the other right now, at least on grass. Boulter in 2
