ATP Wimbledon qualifications
Shimabukuro – Ymer: 27.06.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Sho Shimabukuro has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Sho played at the challenger tournament in Nottingham where he lost against Norrie in three tough sets. Two days ago, Shimabukuro won his first qualifying match against Kovalik in straight sets. Shimabukuro was not confident in his serve, offering many breakpoints. Today, Sho defeated De Jong in the second qualifying round. It was overall a low-quality match, with many unforced errors. Last year at Wimbledon, Shimabukuro successfully qualified and lost in the first round against Dimitrov.
Elias Ymer has lost three of his last five matches. Last week, Ymer played at the challenger tournament in Sassuolo where he lost against Altmaier 1-6 0-6. Here at Wimbledon, Elias won the first qualifying round against Neumayer in straight sets. After that, Ymer won in the second qualifying round against Trungelitti after he was set down. Elias saved all three breakpoints in the third set, and did well under pressure. Last year at Wimbledon, Ymer lost in the second qualifying round against Marozsan. He never had any remarkable results on grass.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Shimabukuro played more grass court matches this season, so he should be more prepared for this match. Ymer did not play any preparation tournaments this season.
That being said, Shimabukuro winning is a value bet.

Van Assche – Pouille: 27.06.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Luca van Assche has won three of his last five matches. Last week, van Assche lost in the 1/8-Finals at the challenger tournament in Sassuolo against Boyer. This was his first grass court tournament of the season. In the first qualifying round here at Wimbledon, van Assche won against Marie in three sets. He was 4-5 down in the deciding set, but managed to break back and win the match. Today, van Assche defeated Tu in another three-setter. Last year at Wimbledon, van Assche was granted a wild card when he lost against Karatsev in four sets.
Lucas Pouille has won four of his last five matches. After losing at the qualifying tournament at the French Open, Pouille has not played any competitive matches since then. Here at Wimbledon, Pouille dominated against Pinnington Jones in the first qualifying round. In the second round, Lucas won against Jiri Vesely in straight sets. Last year at Wimbledon, Pouille reached the last qualifying round at Wimbledon where he retired mid-match, after being one set up against Machac.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Pouille is just the slight favorite in this matchup. Van Assche never had any remarkable results on grass courts. On the other hand, Pouille played some of his best matches on grass. Lucas is also a way more experienced player than van Assche, who will probably prevail in this match.
That being said, Pouille winning is a value bet.
