ATP 500 Queen’s semifinals
Thompson – Musetti: 21.06.2024 14:00 CEST
H2H: 0-1
Jordan Thompson has lost three of his last five matches. Now that the clay court part of the season is over, Jordan will get back to his winning runs. Last week in Hertogenbosch, Thompson lost against Milos Raonic in straight sets. Here in London, Jordan won the first round match against Rune in three sets. Thompson played great, and offered only one breakpoint. In the second round, against Murray, Jordan led 4-1 with the double break in the first set before Murray retired. Andy had unfortunately struggles with his back, and could not continue the match. In the quarterfinals, Thompson won against Fritz in straight sets as we predicted. Last year in London, Thompson lost in the 1/8-Finals against Norrie.
Lorenzo Musetti has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Stuttgart, Lorenzo reached the semifinals where he lost against Matteo Berrettini in straight sets. En route to the semifinals, Lorenzo had some solid wins. Here in London, Lorenzo upset Alex de Minaur in the first round in straight sets. In the second round, Lorenzo won against Brandon Nakashima in three tight sets. Musetti was great under pressure, saving 10/12 breakpoints. In the quaterfinals, Musetti defeated Harris as we predicted. Last year in London, Musetti lost in the quarterfinals against Holger Rune.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a almost 50-50 match. Thompson is a way better grass court player, and we believe that he will win comfortably.
That being said, Thompson winning is a value bet.
