But who will lift the trophy?

ATP Halle Final Prediction

Jannik Sinner vs Hubert Hurkacz

Head-to-Head: Sinner 2-2 Hurkacz

Hubert Hurkacz has exactly played like he always does on grass – solid. He hasn’t dropped a set so far and is coming off a big win against the in-form Alexander Zverev in the semifinals. Hurkacz has won one title this year, on clay in Estoril, and would love to win one on his favourite surface. He has won all the tiebreaks he has played so far this week, and that will give him confidence if it goes that way against Sinner.

This is the first final for Jannik Sinner on grass and there is no doubt it won’t be the last. Sinner had a tough draw right from the first round, but how he has navigated through all those tough matches has been commendable – truly a sign of a world No.1. Sinner thrives in close matches and raises his level in key moments.

Tiebreakers are likely to benefit Hurkacz more, given their tiebreaker record this tournament, even though Sinner improved in the last couple of matches. The key for Sinner is putting balls in play. The more returns he makes, the better his chances are of winning many of them from the baseline. Margins on grass are very slim and this match will come down to who can take their chances and produce under pressure. As good as the Pole is on grass, Sinner can make this surface his own for the coming years, and this title might be the beginning of it.

Prediction: Sinner in 3
