ATP 500 Halle 1/8-Finals
Berrettini – Giron: 20.06.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 0-1
Matteo Berrettini has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Stuttgart, Berrettini lost in the final against Jack Draper in three tight sets. It was another solid tournament from Berrettini, who has been struggling with injuries recently. It was also his first tournament after losing in Monte Carlo against Kecmanovic in April. Berrettini skipped most of the clay season to take care of his injury and prepare for his favorite part of the season, the grass court season. Here in Halle, Matteo won his first round match against Michelsen in straight sets.
Marcos Giron has won two of his last five matches. Last week, Giron lost against Draper, who went on to win the tournament in the second round of the ATP Stuttgart. Here in Halle, Giron upset Rublev in the first round in straight sets. Marcos was all over the court and was hitting big shots. His return game was on point, breaking Rublev´s serve in both sets. Last year in Halle, Giron was defeated by Medvedev in the first round.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Berrettini is the big favorite in this matchup. Looking at his current form, we believe that he is the biggest favorite to win the tournament here in Halle.
That being said, Berrettini winning in straight sets is a value bet.

Struff – Tsitsipas: 20.06.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 3-5
Jan-Lennard Struff has won three of his last five matches. Last week, Struff played in Stuttgart where he unfortunately had to withdraw from his quarterfinal match against Nakashima. It was only due to an illness, so we should not be concerned if he is injured. En route to the quarterfinals, Struff won both of his matches in straight sets against Cobolli and Rinderknech. Here in Halle, Struff won his first round match against Darderi in three tough sets. Struff even had to save one match point in the third set tiebreak. Last year in Halle, Struff lost in the second round against Alexander Bublik in three sets.
Stefanos Tsitsipas has won four of his last five matches. This is his least favorite surface. Two weeks ago, Stefanos lost in the quarterfinals at the French Open against Carlos Alcaraz. Here in Halle, Tsitsipas won his first round match against the young German, Squire, in two tight tiebreaks. Last year in Halle, Stefanos lost against Jarry in the second round. Tsitsipas just needs too much time to prepare his backhand, and that is the main reason why he underperforms on grass.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. However, we believe that Struff is a way better grass court player than Tsitsipas. Stefanos did not look good in his first round match.
That being said, Struff winning is a value bet.
