It should be an entertaining fourth day at the WTA Nottingham Open with a number of star names set to take to the court. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, as well as all the action in Den Bosch. But who will secure their spot in the quarterfinals?
WTA Nottingham Day 4 Predictions
Emma Raducanu vs Daria Snigur
Prediction: Snigur in 3
Francesca Jones vs Ashlyn Krueger
Francesa Jones is going to have home support and did upset the seeded Caroline Dolehide in the previous round – not necessarily the surprise it looks like on paper given the Briton’s affinity for the grass. But Ashlyn Krueger’s recent form is solid and she doesn’t look like an easy out on grass after dismissing Wang Yafan in straight sets in the first round. I’ll go with the higher ranked player here.
Prediction: Krueger in 2
Ons Jabeur vs Linda Fruhvirtova
This won’t necessarily be straightforward for Ons Jabeur, but the Tunisian has established herself as a force to be reckoned with on grass courts, reaching the last two finals on the hallowed lawns at the All England Club. After surprise defeats to Elena Rybakina and Marketa Vondrousova, she will surely have a point to prove on the grass this season. Linda Fruhvirtova has impressed this week in coming through the qualifying before beating home hope Yuriko Miyazaki, and she has nothing to lose here. But though that means she can swing freely, Jabeur is a cut above the opposition she has faced thus far. To say the least.
Prediction: Jabeur in 2
Magdalena Frech vs Tatjana Maria
The two players are similar in ranking and results but the veteran Tatjana Maria is a bit of a grass court savant who is capable of performing well above her ranking on the surface. The German is a Wimbledon semifinalist after all – having reached the last four at the All England Club back in 2022. Magdalena Frech comes into this one off of a tough match and this seems to be where the road will end.
Prediction: Maria in 2
