ATP Stuttgart Day 1 Predictions
Dominik Koepfer vs Zhizhen Zhang
When we get to grass, the first question we always have is how comfortable players are with the surface. The movement and play are so different, especially with the lusher courts in Stuttgart. Zhang might have the higher upside, but I think Koepfer has more experience and can handle the grass better.
Prediction: Koepfer in 3
Yannick Hanfmann vs Henri Squire
Squire is coming off such an impressive run at the French Open, coming through qualifying and reaching the second round. I expect we’ll see his name more often in Tour-level main draws moving forward. For now, though, beating a German in Stuttgart isn’t easy.
Prediction: Hanfmann in 3
Hamad Medjedovic vs Fabian Marozsan
On clay, I would love to watch this matchup. On grass, it feels less compelling. I think Medjedovic’s bigger game and one-two punch will easily carry the day.

Jack Draper vs Sebastian Ofner
Draper has not quite made the huge leap that so many were expecting, but injuries have played a part in that. Still, grass is his bread and butter. If the Brit is to make a move, it starts this week.
