ATP 250 Stuttgart 1/16-Finals
Safiullin – Berrettini: 11.06.2024 12:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Roman Safiullin has lost three of his last five matches. The last match that he played was at the French Open, where he lost in the first round against Lajovic in five sets. Roman is a very solid grass court player. He had some decent wins on grass as his playing style fits the surface almost perfectly. Last year at Wimbledon, Safiullin reached the quarterfinal where he lost against Sinner. Roman played last year in the qualification tournament in Stuttgart where he lost against Hassan in the first qualification round.
Matteo Berrettini has won four of his last five matches. Unfortunately, Matteo has faced big injury problems these last two years. After winning the title in Marrakech in April, Berrettini played only one match. The last match he played was against Kecmanovic in the first round of the ATP Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo, where he lost in straight sets. In 2021, Berrettini reached the final at Wimbledon where he lost against Novak Djokovic. It is safe to say that this is his favorite surface. Two years ago, Matteo lifted the trophy here in Stuttgart, winning against Murray in the final.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a pretty even match. We believe that there will be almost no breaks in this match. That being said, we expect at least two, if not three tight sets. Both players are great servers and the surface is really fast.
That being said, over games is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: over 24.5 games @1.80 @bet365
Martineau – Shapovalov: 11.06.2024 15:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Matteo Martineau has lost three of his last five matches. Last week, Martineau lost in the first round of the Heilbronn challenger against Rodionov in three sets. Here in Stuttgart, Martineau fought through the qualifying tournament. In the first round, Martineau upset Marterer in straight sets. Yesterday, Matteo upset Cressy as well, this time in three sets. He served well throughout the tournament, and managed to win many free points on his serve.
Denis Shapovalov has lost three of his last five matches. Last week, Shapovalov played a challenger tournament in Surbiton where he lost against Vukic in straight sets. Denis was terrible on return, which was the main reason why he lost the match. Shapovalov plays great on grass, and he hopes to regain his best form exactly at this part of the season. Last year in Stuttgart, Shapovalov lost in the first round against Fucsovics in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Shapovalov is a big favorite in this matchup. We believe that he is overall a better player than Martineau. However, Martineau played two solid matches here in Stuttgart. We believe that he will keep this match tight.
That being said, Martineau covering the games handicap is a value bet.
