ATP French Open final
Zverev – Alcaraz: 09.06.2024 15:00 CEST
H2H: 5-4
Alexander Zverev has won 12 straight matches. Two weeks ago, Sascha lifted the title in Rome after beating Nicolas Jarry in straight sets. This year in the first round, Zverev defeated Nadal in straight sets as we predicted. Sascha did not fumble under the pressure and was able to handle the situation really well. After that, Sascha had another great performance, winning against Goffin in three sets. In the third round, Alexander was on the verge of losing against Griekspoor. He was 1-4 down in the fifth set, but managed to keep his composure and turn the match around. In the 1/8-Finals, Zverev came back after being 1-2 down against Rune. It was another hard-fought match for Zverev, but he still came through as the winner. Alex de Minaur also did not have an answer for Zverev, who looked tired in his quarterfinal match. Zverev made many unforced errors, but was still able to win against de Minaur in straight sets. It was a brutal match for both players. Yesterday, Zverev lost the first set against Ruud. However, Alexander won three straight sets and won the match easily. In the end, Sascha knows how to play against big players. However, this was not the case at the Grand Slams where he has a losing 4-15 record against top-10 players. His last three French Open tournaments all ended in the semifinals.
Carlos Alcaraz has won 6 straight matches. Last month, Alcaraz reached the quarterfinals in Madrid where he was defeated by Rublev in three sets. In his first round match, Alcaraz only lost 4 games against J.J. Wolf. He was dominant from the very start. After that, Alcaraz was struggling against De Jong, winning the match in four tight sets. In the third round, Alcaraz defeated Korda in three tight sets. Once again, Alcaraz played excellently under pressure. Korda had no answer for his game. In the 1/8-Finals, Alcaraz faced Felix Auger-Aliassime. Carlos lost only 7 games throughout the three sets. It was another dominant performance from Carlos. It seems like as the tournament progresses, Alcaraz plays better. In the quarterfinal, Alcaraz won against Tsitsipas in straight sets as we predicted. Carlos only offered two breakpoints and had no problems against Stefanos. His dropshots were on point, and his overall game was just great yet again. Yesterday, Alcaraz won after four hours against Sinner in five tough sets after he was 1-2 down as we predicted. Last year in Paris, Alcaraz lost against Novak Djokovic in the semifinal.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Alcaraz is the favorite in the final. Carlos won the last match on clay against Zverev 6-1 6-2 in Madrid last year. He is currently the best clay court player, and we believe that he will win in the final easily.
That being said, Alcaraz covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Carlos Alcaraz -4.5 games handicap @1.83 @bet365
