The 20-year-old was already twice in this situation, playing in the semifinals at the Grand Slam. In 2022, Coco lost in the French Open final against Swiatek. Last fall, Coco won the title at the US Open, meaning that she won both of her semifinal Grand Slam matches so far in her career.
