ATP French Open 1/16-Finals
Moutet – Ofner: 31.05.2024 16:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Corentin Moutet has won three of his last five matches. At his home slam, Moutet did pretty well so far, losing only two sets in the first two rounds. In the first round, Moutet won against Jarry in four easy sets. He did well under pressure and has played overall a solid match. Yesterday, Moutet won against Shevchenko yet again in four sets. Once again, Moutet had only one set where he was completely lost. However, he kept his focus for most of the time and won in the end. With this result, Moutet equaled his best French Open result since 2019 when he lost against Londero in five tough sets.
Sebastian Ofner has won four of his last five matches. Last week, Ofner reached the 1/8-Finals in Geneva where he lost against Casper Ruud in three tough sets. Here in Paris, Ofner has already played 10 sets. In the first round, Ofner won against talented French player Atmane in five sets. Sebastian was 0-2 down, but managed to turn the match around. After that, Ofner did an amazing job yet again. Ofner was once again 0-2 down, this time against Baez, and turned the match around. He has already spent around 8 hours on the court in those two matches. Due to the bad weather, Ofner now does not have much rest as he did not get that much-needed one day’s rest.
Best Bet to Make
Looking at the odds, Moutet is a clear favorite in this matchup. We believe that he could be a dark horse against anyone here in Paris. He has shown great tennis in his first two matches, and we believe that he will win tonight yet again in front of his crowd. Ofner is going to be tired, and it will be hard for him to keep up with the long rallies.
That being said, Moutet covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Shelton – Auger-Aliassime: 31.05.2024 16:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Ben Shelton has won three of his last five matches. Last week, Shelton lost his first match in Geneva against Cobolli in three sets. Here in Paris, Shelton won his first two matches comfortably. Reaching the third round at the French Open is also his best result in a tour-level European clay event. Shelton won in the first round against Gaston in four sets. Yesterday, Shelton struggled in the first set against Nishikori, but still managed to take the 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, after the second set was over, Nishikori retired.
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won three of his last five matches. The Canadian had some injury problems last year, so he was struggling a lot with his consistency because of that as well. En route to the third round, Auger won both matches comfortably. In the first round, Auger won in straight sets against Nishioka. Yesterday, Auger won against the young German, Squire, in four sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be an almost 50-50 match. However, we believe that Auger has more experience playing big matches such as this one and that he is a better clay court player than Shelton.
That being said, Auger-Aliassime winning is a value bet.
