ATP French Open 1/32-Finals
Altmaier – Tsitsipas: 29.05.2024
H2H: 0-1
Daniel Altmaier has lost four of his last five matches. After Daniel reached the 1/16-Finals in Madrid, Altmaier lost three first round matches. Yesterday, Altmaier played against Laslo Djere in the first round. Altmaier won this late night match after fighting for over five hours. This match was a complete rollercoaster with both players losing their momentum. Altmaier was 2-0 up, but Djere fought back and was even up in the fifth set. However, the German kept his composure and won in the end. Last year, Altmaier reached the 1/16-Finals in Paris where he lost against Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets.
Stefanos Tsitsipas has won four of his last five matches. Stefanos is among the biggest favorites to win the French Open this year. Last week, Tsitsipas was defeated by Jarry in the quarterfinals of the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome. Last month, Tsitsipas had an incredible run, winning the Masters in Monte Carlo and shortly after that, reaching the final in Barcelona. Here in Paris, Tsitsipas won his first round against Fucsovics in three sets. It was a rough first set for him, but once Stefanos started to feel comfortable, Fucsovics did not have an answer. Last year in Paris, Tsitsipas reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Alcaraz in three sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Tsitsipas is a huge favorite in this matchup. Altmaier had a rough first round match, and we believe that he will be exhausted against Tsitsipas.
That being said, Tsitsipas covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Stefanos Tsitsipas -7.5 games handicap @1.83 @bet365
Alcaraz – De Jong: 29.05.2024
H2H: first meeting
Carlos Alcaraz has won four of his last five matches. Earlier this month, Alcaraz reached the quarterfinals in Madrid where he was defeated by Rublev in three sets. Since then, Alcaraz has been preparing for the French Open. He also had some fitness issues, so that is why he missed the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome. In his first round match two days ago, Alcaraz only lost 4 games against J.J. Wolf. He was dominant from the very start. Last year in Paris, Alcaraz lost against Novak Djokovic in the semifinal.
Jesper De Jong has won four of his last five matches. Most of his career, De Jong spent playing at the challenger tour level. However, here in Paris, De Jong reached the main tournament through the qualification tournament easily. He won all of his matches in the qualifying tournament in straight sets. Two days ago, De Jong upset Jack Draper in the first round, winning in five sets. It was one of his best performances of his young career. At the end of the match, De Jong looked exhausted. He is not used to the best of five matches.
Best Bet to Make
De Jong played an incredible match two days ago. However, we believe that he will be tired against Alcaraz. Carlos also played a very solid match in the first round, so we believe that he will repeat his performance and win easily tomorrow.
That being said, Alcaraz covering the games handicap is a value bet.
