Sebastian Baez has won four of his last five matches. He is enjoying his time here in Geneva while playing great tennis. These faster conditions fit his game perfectly. In the first round, Baez defeated Nagal in straight sets. He struggled a little bit in the first set, but once he got adjusted to the surface, there was no one stopping Baez. Yesterday, Baez completely dominated against Carballes Baena, winning 6-3 6-0. With that victory, Baez became the player with the most wins on clay this season so far. He loves to play on a little bit faster clay courts, and we saw that this week already.
Casper Ruud has won three of his last five matches. His form has been declining in recent weeks. In his first match here in Geneva, Ruud lost the first set against Ofner 4-6. However, once Casper picked up his form, Ofner did not have an answer for his game. Casper won the second and third sets 6-2 each. Two weeks ago, Ruud lost his first match in Rome against Kecmanovic. Before that, Ruud was upset by Auger-Aliassime in the 1/8-Finals of the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid. Worth mentioning that Ruud has already won two titles here in Geneva, his first one in 2021, and his last one in 2022. Last year, Ruud was stopped by Nicolas Jarry in the quarterfinal.

According to the bookies, Baez is the underdog in this match. We expect a pretty tight match that could go either way. Casper is struggling with his form at the moment, and on the other hand, Baez has been phenomenal here in Geneva so far.

Alexander Shevchenko has won three of his last five matches. Last week Shevchenko played in France, Bordeaux, where he wanted to play some matches before the French Open. However, Shevchenko lost his first match against Mpetshi Perricard in three sets. In his first round match here in Geneva, Shevchenko defeated Marozsan in straight sets. Being a big server and huge hitter, this surface is perfect for him. Shevchenko had 25 winners with only 6 unforced errors. Unfortunately, Ruusuvuori withdrew from the tournament, so Shevchenko did not have to play his second round match.
Flavio Cobolli has also won three of his last five matches. After losing against Korda in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome, Cobolli spent 10 days training for this tournament in Geneva and the French Open. He looked great in his first round win against Karatsev. Two days ago, Cobolli defeated Shelton in three tough sets. He lost the first set and was trailing 2-4 in the second set as well. However, Cobolli stayed strong, and won the match in the end.

According to the bookies, Shevchenko is a slight underdog in this matchup. We believe that this surface is perfect for him, and we expect him to go deep this week.
