ATP Rome 1/32-Finals
Hurkacz – Nadal: 11.05.2024 13:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Hubert Hurkacz has won three of his last five matches. We all know how big of a server he is, and a slower surface such as this one does not fit his game at all. However, so far this season Hurkacz has had some decent wins on the clay. Last week, Hurkacz lost in the 1/8-Finals of ATP Masters 1000 Madrid against Fritz in straight sets. Before that, Hubert had a solid tournament in Monte Carlo where he reached the 1/8-Finals as well. It is worth mentioning that, earlier in April, Hurkacz won a clay title in Estoril.
Rafael Nadal is back, but he is struggling a lot on the court. However, it is still nice to see him playing at this level considering his injuries. King of the clay has already played his first round match against Bergs, here in Rome. Nadal won in three tight sets, harder than we predicted. Right now, Nadal is preparing for the French Open and Paris Olympics. His body is still not at 100%, but he can compete at the competitive level. Last week in Madrid, Nadal lost against Lehecka in straight sets as we predicted.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Hurkacz is a slight underdog in this match. However, looking at the first round match between Nadal and Bergs, we can see that Nadal is nowhere near his best level. We believe that Hurkacz will be a better player on the court and win this match.
That being said, Hurkacz winning is a value bet.

Draper – Medvedev: 11.05.2024 14:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Jack Draper has won three of his last five matches. This was his least favorite part of the season. Last week, Jack played in Madrid where he lost in the second round against Hurkacz in straight sets. Being a Brit, Draper played most of his career on the fast hard courts. He never had any remarkable results on the clay. This will be his first ATP tournament in Rome. Two weeks ago, Draper reached the quarterfinals in Munich where he lost against Fritz in three sets. Yesterday, Draper won against Coric in straight sets.
Daniil Medvedev has won three of his last five matches. In his last match against Lehecka earlier this month, Medvedev had to retire after losing the first set. He looked fit at his practice match today, and we believe that he has no injury that should bother him at the moment. Medvedev also hates playing on the clay, but he had some solid wins last week in Madrid. Last year, Medvedev actually won the title in Rome, which was one of his most surprising titles in his career.
Best Bet to Make
Jack Draper did not show much in his first round match against Coric. Medvedev is defending the title here in Rome. Being so experienced, we believe that he should be a bigger favorite in this matchup.
That being said, Medvedev winning is a value bet.
