ATP Rome 1/64-Finals
Mensik – Hanfmann: 08.05.2024 11:00 CEST
H2H: 1-1
Jakub Mensik has won three of his last five matches. Last week, Mensik had a solid tournament in Madrid. In the last match he played against Auger-Aliassime in the 1/16-Finals of ATP Masters 1000 Madrid, Mensik had to retire mid-match. He said earlier this week that his injury is nothing serious. That being said, we believe that he will be fit for his opening match against Hanfmann. Mensik won last week in Madrid against Hanfmann in the first round. After that, Mensik upset Dimitrov in three sets. He is just 18 years old, and his future is bright if he stays healthy.
Yannick Hanfmann has lost four of his last five matches. He is totally out of form, and he is yet to have a remarkable result this season. As we already mentioned before, Hanfmann lost against Mensik last week in Madrid. Before that, Hanfmann played in his hometown, Munich, where he lost in the second round against Huesler in straight sets. So far this season, Hanfmann has only won two tournaments. He is yet to win three straight matches this season. Last year in Rome, Hanfmann played a great tournament and reached the quarterfinals.
Best Bet to Make
We believe that even though Hanfmann had a great tournament in Rome last season, he is far away from that level at this moment. Mensik showed great tennis last week, and we believe that he is well rested for this match.
That being said, Mensik winning is a value bet.

Marterer – Cobolli: 08.05.2024 12:30 CEST
H2H: 1-0
Maximilian Marterer is another German who has been struggling with his form this season. Before the qualification tournament in Madrid, Marterer lost 5 straight matches. He also had some injury problems this season, so we believe that his injuries are a main reason for his underperforming results this season. Here in Rome, Marterer won his first qualification round against Picchione in three hard-fought sets. Today, Marterer won against the veteran, Richard Gasquet in straight sets. He has already spent a lot of time on the court in the last two days.
Flavio Cobolli has lost four of his last six matches. However, last week in Madrid, Cobolli had two big wins and reached the 1/16-Finals where he lost against Khachanov in two tight sets. Before that match in the opening rounds, Cobolli won against Tabilo and Jarry in three sets. If he won this match, Cobolli would come closer to the top 50 in the rankings. He is a very solid clay court player, and playing at home, we believe that he could be a dark horse in Rome.
Best Bet to Make
Marterer is on the verge of losing his top 100 status. His form is just terrible at this moment. Cobolli had a great tournament last week, and we believe that he is just a better player at this moment.
That being said, Cobolli winning is a value bet.
