ATP Munich Best Bets Including Auger-Aliassime vs Marterer

Felix Auger-Aliassime in action ahead of the ATP Tokyo Open.

ATP Munich 1/16-Finals

Auger-Aliassime – Marterer: 16.04.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting

Auger-Aliassime has lost three out of his last five matches. He has played only two matches on the clay court this season so far. Last week in Monte Carlo, Auger won against Nardi in the first round in straight sets. After that, Auger lost against Sonego in two tight sets. Auger loves to play on the fast courts because of his aggressive playing style. He rarely plays on clay, and he also did not have any remarkable success on this surface either. He has only played 18 matches this season thus far. He has a 10-8 winning record.

Maximilian Marterer is also struggling with his form right now. He lost 4 out of his last 5 matches. Marterer also has only 4 wins so far this season. However, he lost many tight matches that could have gone either way. Marterer has played three clay court matches this season. He won his first match against Ymer 6-3 6-0. After that, Marterer lost two tight matches against Thiem and O´Connell. The loss against O´Connell was also the last match he played. Marterer loves to play on the clay courts.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Auger-Aliassime is a big favorite in this meeting. We believe that Marterer has a decent chance against Auger. Both players are out-of-form, but Marterer had some great performances on the clay court.

That being said, Marterer’s to cover games handicap is a value bet.

Garin – Koepfer:16.04.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-0

Christian Garin is outside the top 100. He used to be one of the biggest Chilean talents. Garin also won against players like Zverev, Cilic and other top 10 guys. Two weeks ago, Garin played at Estoril, and he showed some signs of his best form. Garin reached the semifinals there, where he lost against Hurkacz in three tight sets. Last year, Garin reached the quarterfinals here in Munich. He lost against Rune in straight sets, but played a solid tournament.

Dominik Koepfer has lost his last three matches. He has played two tournaments on the clay this season so far and lost both times in the first round. In Estoril, Koepfer lost against Llamas Ruiz in straight sets. After that, Koepfer lost against Griekspoor in Monte Carlo, which was also the last match he played. Unlike Garin, Koepfer is not a great clay court player. Even though he is German, Koepfer grew up in the States and played most of his matches on the fast hard courts.

Best Bet to Make

Garin is a great clay court player. He might be out of his best form, but he is always dangerous on clay. He has had great performances throughout his career in Munich, and we believe that he will have another solid performance this week as well. The bookies are predicting this as a 50-50 one, but we believe that Garin will win easily tomorrow.

That being said, Garin winning is a value bet.
