ATP Barcelona Best Bets Including Nadal vs Cobolli

Rafael Nadal in defeat at the Australian Open.

ATP Barcelona 1/32-Finals

Altmaier – Popyrin: 16.04.2024 15:30 CEST
H2H: 0-1

Daniel Altmaier is in terrible form right now. He lost four out of the last five matches. He has already played six matches on clay this season and won only one. The last tournament he played was in Monte Carlo. Altmaier won his first qualification round against van Assche, which was also the last match he won. After that, Altmaier lost in the final qualification round against Moutet in straight sets. However, Altmaier came into the tournament as a lucky loser. He lost in the first round against Cerundolo, also in straight sets. Altmaier had a big win this season against Zverev, but other than that, Altmaier has not had any remarkable success this season so far.

Alexei Popyrin is in solid form. He won three out of his last five matches. Monte Carlo was his first clay court tournament of the season. He made it to the 1/8-Finals where he lost against his compatriot, de Minaur. Popyrin won against Rublev last week and he showed promising tennis. Even though Popyrin grew up in Australia and did not play much clay court tennis, he is still good at it. The last clay court tournament he played before Monte Carlo was last year in Umag. Popyrin won the tournament, beating Wawrinka in the final.

Best Bet to Make

Popyrin is currently in better form than Altmaier. He is a solid clay court player, and we believe that he will win easily in Barcelona. He loves to play at big tournaments such as this one, and he handles the pressure very well.

That being said, Popyrin to win is a value bet.

Cobolli – Nadal: 16.04.2024 16:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Flavio Cobolli had a great Australian Open at the beginning of the year. He reached the 1/16-Finals where he lost against de Minaur. After that, Cobolli has not had much success this season so far. He played only three matches on clay and lost two of them. The last match he played was in Monte Carlo, where he lost in the first qualification round against Nagal. Cobolli looked like a future level player and just was not hitting the ball well. He will at least have the honor to share the court with one of the best players of our time, Rafael Nadal.

Rafael Nadal is back after being out for over a month. He confirmed today that he feels ready and that he will play tomorrow. Nadal has played only four matches this season and has an even record, 2-2. However, there are not enough words to describe how good he is on the clay. We will also try to keep it short for you guys, as we all know that he is the best player to play on the clay courts of all time. Rafael Nadal played one training set against Rublev yesterday. He looked great and won that set 6-1. We believe that he is ready as he said, and it will be interesting to see if he can compete at the highest level yet again.

Best Bet to Make

All being said, we believe that Nadal is ready for this part of the season. There are also some rumors that he will retire after the French Open. He had enough time to rest and prepare for this part of the season.

All being said, Nadal winning in straight sets is a value bet.
