ATP Marrakech 250 1/16-Finals
Shevchenko – Berrettini: 02.04.2024 14:30 CEST
H2H: 1-0
Alexander Shevchenko is back on his favorite surface! His last clay court match was last year in September. Since then, Shevchenko has played only on the hard court. Last year, Shevchenko had some great success at the clay court tournaments. He almost won against Sinner in Rome. Shevchenko played both masters tournaments on the clay. He reached the third round at both masters tournaments, in Madrid and Rome as well. We have to admit that he is a great hard-court player as well, but we believe that he showed his best tennis on clay. Recently, Shevchenko played in Miami where he lost in the second round to Hurkacz in three hard fought sets. We believe that he can go deep in this tournament! His opponent, Matteo Berrettini, had a chance to win his first title of the season in Phoenix. He lost to Borges in Phoenix, in straight sets. Berrettini has been out since the US Open last year. It was his first tournament since then, but he looked good on the court! The former world number 6 had constant injuries, and he is now out of the top 100. He needs to regain his self-confidence back in order to compete at the highest level. Berrettini also played in Miami, where he lost to Murray in three sets. We saw in that match that his ground strokes were still not consistent. He had 32 winners with 23 unforced errors. The bookies are considering Shevchenko to be the underdog in this match. We disagree with that. We believe that he has played many big matches this year and that he can show us his best tennis on the clay. That being said, Shevchenko winning is a value bet, and you should go for it!

ATP Estoril 250 1/16-Finals
Choinski – Fonseca: 02.04.2024 17:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Jan Choinski played most of his career at the challenger level. Coming from Great Britain, most of his matches were played on the fast hard courts. He had to fight through qualifications to play in the main draw here. He won both matches in straight sets. His opponent, Fonseca, is a 17-year-old Brazilian talent. Fonseca has played all of his matches on the clay this season, so he should be ready for this match. Last week, Fonseca played the challenger final in Paraguay where he lost in three sets. This youngster has a great forehand and great playing style for this kind of surface. He played his first ATP Tour level match at home in Rio de Janeiro, where he won in the first round against Fils. Fonseca also won in the second round against another great clay court specialist, Garin. If he stays healthy, there is no doubt that Fonseca will be one of the best clay court players in the future! That being said, we believe that Fonseca is a way better clay court player. He is in great form, and we believe that he will win easily tonight!
