Elina Avanesyan had an incredible match against Andreeva in the first round of Miami. Avanesyan offered only one break point and that is why she lost the second set. Other than that, Avanesyan showed pure dominance. She won the first set 6-0 and the third set 6-1. Her opponent, Jabeur, is in terrible form at the moment. Jabeur is on a 3-game losing streak where she did not manage to win a single set. It seems as if she is still struggling with her knee injury. Jabeur had only two wins this season. Both wins were against players who were not even in the top 100. Jabeur is considered to be a favorite in this match. Considering how she is playing, we can not agree with that. That being said, Avanesyan to cover games handicap is a value bet!

Maria Sakkari is playing her best tennis at the moment. Last week, Sakkari reached the final at Indian Wells where she lost to Swiatek in straight sets. She changed her coaching staff, and it seems like it is working just fine for her. Two days ago, Sakkari won against Yuan 6-2 in the 1/32 Finals in Miami. Her opponent tonight, Yastremska, had a great Australian Open tournament where she reached the semifinals. After that, Yastremska played poorly and was not consistent. Yastremska had to retire at the Indian Wells against Raducanu. Here, in the 1/32-Finals, Yastremska won against Saville in two hard fought sets. All things considered, Sakkari is currently in better form. She is a better player, and we believe that she will go deep in Miami as well!

We have been supporting Townsend since the beginning of the tournament. Her playing style is just fun to watch, and it fits this tournament perfectly. Townsend is on a 4 game winning streak and her serve, and volley game looks fabulous. In her last match, Townsend played against Mertens and won in straight sets. She was an underdog in this match, but managed to win easily 6-2. She played almost a perfect match! Her opponent tonight is Rybakina, who is ranked 4th in the world. Rybakina had two great tournaments in February. She won a tournament in Abu Dhabi and then right afterward also played in the final in Doha. After that, Rybakina had a minor injury problem. She had to withdraw from the tournament in Dubai where she played in the quarter-finals. After that, Rybakina had a one-month break. She came back on the court yesterday where she played against Tauson. We have to say that Rybakina was nowhere near his best level in this match. She made many unforced errors and gave away many cheap points. She is a big favorite tonight yet again, but we believe that Townsend has a decent chance tonight!
