Viktoriya Tomova had some wins and losses this season. It was definitely not her best start of the season. She played really well in her last match that she played in Dubai against Samsonova. Tomova lost in straight sets, but showed that she can compete with the best players in the game. Her opponent in Indian Wells, Sofia Kenin, is really struggling at the moment. This year she only got one win and that was at the beginning of January. Something seemed off with Kenin. She lost pretty much against all the players who are ranked below her. Kenin will play at home tonight, and we believe that she will play better. She had enough time to rest and prepare for this part of the season. We believe that Kenin should be a bigger favorite even though she is in terrible form. Tomova is a challenger level player and if Kenin could just play a little bit better, it should not be a problem for her to get into the second round.

Diane Parry is a young talented French player. She has been playing really well this year. Parry played lots of matches this year, and she seems ready for this part of the season!
In the first round here she won against Trevisan in straight sets. She was serving really well and only got her serve broken once. Her opponent, Leylah Fernandez, was a big star last year. She was in the top 20 in the rankings, but since then, she unfortunately has had many injuries. In her last match, Fernandez had to retire mid-match because of another injury. It was almost two weeks ago, and we are still not sure if she is ready. Her shoulder has been bothering her for a while now. We believe that Parry should not be such an underdog in this match. She played many matches this year and stayed healthy and fit. We believe that Fernandez is still not 100% fit. All being said, Parry to cover the games handicap is a value bet!

Lesia Tsurenko is a Ukrainian veteran. She did not have the best start of the season thus far. In her first round match in Indian Wells, Tsurenko got lucky with the draw. She played against a qualifier, Hovde, as she won in easy straight sets. Tomorrow, she will have a way bigger test against Navarro. Emma Navarro is a young American prodigy. She is on the verge of breaking into the top 20 in the rankings. She played in San Diego last week. Navarro did pretty well, eventually losing in the semifinals against Boulter. As we already mentioned, those tournaments are good preparation for Indian Wells. We believe that Navarro is currently a better and more rested player. Navarro winning in front of the home crowd is a value bet, and you should go for it!
