WTA Linz in Austria will get underway with Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in action against Martina Trevisan, there are two main draw matches scheduled for monday along with a host of qualifiers.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Martina Trevisan
Pavlyuchenkova has won their only meeting and is in far better form than the Italian Trevisan, Trevisan is a fringe WTA Main draw player at this point, while Pavs has returned well from injury and in tournaments like this she makes her living by winning at least a match or two and perhaps even reaching the final. Pavs should make relatively easy work of this matchup. Pavlyuchenkova in 2
Katie Boulter vs Jasmine Paolini
The pair have split h2h meetings, Boulter did secure a high level win to start the season but Paolini had a good Australian swing and is a strong competitor on hard courts. I don’t see Boulter being able to compete in the key points and Italy’s Paolini should shine. Paolini in 2
