Katerina Siniakova vs Marie Bouzkova

Head-to-head: Siniakova 1-0 Bouzkova

Both players recorded statement wins in their respective semifinals. Siniakova got revenge against Leylah Fernandez, after the Canadian beat her in the Hong Kong final last week. The seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion played superbly in her straight sets win, striking the ball cleanly and confidently from the beginning of the match. Bouzkova’s level was similarly impressive against Diane Shnaider. The younger Czech won a terrific opening set on a tiebreak, but her 19-year-old opponent fell apart after that setback to allow Bouzkova to claim a 7-6 6-2 victory.

There will be a clash of styles in this final. Siniakova is one of the most aggressive players on the WTA Tour, while Bouzkova’s movement and consistency are her biggest strengths. It is likely to be a very close match. Bouzkova is the higher-ranked of the two women, and she has achieved that through how hard she makes her opponent work to win points. Her Czech compatriot will need to find her range from the beginning in this contest.

However, Siniakova is given a slight advantage for the final in Jiangxi. The courts in China are moderately fast, which suits the elder Czech far more in this matchup. In addition, Siniakova is playing so well right now. This is her second final in two weeks. She came so close to defeating Leylah Fernandez in Hong Kong, but found the Canadian in inspired form. Bouzkova is a great player in her own right, but Siniakova’s best level on a fast court is slightly superior. Siniakova to win a tight match.

Prediction: Siniakova in 3
