Wimbledon Day 4 Women’s Predictions Including Barbora Krejcikova vs Mirra Andreeva

WTA Birmingham Classic finalist Barbora Krejcikova in action.

The Wimbledon schedule has been modified due to rain, but there are still plenty of women’s matches scheduled for Day 4. As always, we here at LWOT will do our best to predict all of the matches for you. We split the matches already set for Thursday between three articles. In addition to this article, the others feature Aryna Sabalenka vs Varvara Gracheva and Elena Rybakina vs Alize Cornet. Predicting these matches are Jordan Reynolds, Shane Black, and Manuel Traquete. Who do you think will win?

Wimbledon Day 4 Women’s Predictions

Paula Badosa vs Marta Kostyuk

Jordan:
Kostyuk’s comeback over Maria Sakkari was the most incredible in the first round. It will be a cakewalk for Badosa if Kostyuk performs as she did in the first set, but it will be close if she finds the level of the last 2 sets. Badosa to win a close one.
Prediction: Badosa in 3

Shane:
After dropping her opening set of the tournament 0-6 to Maria Sakkari, Marta Kostyuk played phenomenal tennis to upset the No. 8 seed. She now looks to best Paula Badosa, a player who has beaten her in their three previous meetings. Badosa looked confident in her Round 1 victory over Alison Riske, but the grass has never been her best surface. I’ll take Kostyuk to muck up another match and pull the upset.
Prediction: Kostyuk in 3

Manuel:
Badosa has been making a lot of headlines lately because of her relationship with Tsitsipas, but her results and ranking have been tanking for a while. She has a very difficult draw here too, with Kostyuk extra confident after upsetting Maria Sakkari in the opening round.
Prediction: Kostyuk in 3

Katie Boulter vs Viktoriya Tomova

Jordan:
Boulter kept her focus after being stopped by on court protestors on court 18, while Tomova recorded a terrific comeback victory over the seeded Bernarda Pera. I think the home crowd, though, will push the Brit through.
Prediction: Boulter in 2

Shane:
Englishwoman Katie Boulter will have the home crowd on her side when she takes on Viktoriya Tomova. Boulter is the better player on the grass and will feed off the energy from the London crowd.
Prediction: Boulter in 2

Manuel:
Boulter is playing at home and has a very good draw to make a bit of a run here. She looked very good in her opening round match and should have too match for Tomova here.
Prediction: Boulter in 2

Ons Jabeur vs Zhuoxuan Bai

Jordan:
Bai has already had a successful tournament after winning on her grand slam debut. Jabeur was entertaining as ever in her opening round, and loves the grass. It would be a major shock if she didn’t win comfortably.
Prediction: Jabeur in 2

Shane:
No. 6 seed Ons Jabeur looks to continue her winning ways against qualifier Zhuoxuan Bai. The world No. 191 qualifier has minimal WTA experience, let alone Grand Slam experience. Jabeur should be able to overwhelm her from the baseline.
Prediction: Jabeur in 2

Manuel:
Jabeur made the final last year and is once again one of the main candidates. She’s looking for a maiden Slam title and Bai is unlikely to pose any kind of meaningful opposition to her here.
Prediction: Jabeur in 2

Barbora Krejcikova vs Mirra Andreeva

Jordan:
Krejcikova navigated a potentially tricky first round match against Heather Watson calmly. Andreeva won a dramatic opening round and showed mental strength, but Krejcikova showed too much quality for me not to back her.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 2

Shane:
No. 10 seed Barbora Krejcikova will get all she can handle from 16-year-old qualifier Mirra Andreeva. The young Russian has a bright future in this sport, but I do not believe she possesses the firepower to oust a top seed at Wimbledon.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 3

Manuel:
Andreeva has been having a great run, starting from qualifying, but this will be a huge step up in quality. Krejcikovai is almost 100 ranking spots ahead of her and is a very clear favorite to make it through here.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 2
