ATP Queen’s Club Day 4 Predictions Including Carlos Alcaraz vs Jiri Lehecka

Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon.

Action continues Thursday at the ATP Queen’s Club Championships, with the remaining second-round matches scheduled. With seeds such as Lorenzo Musetti and Cameron Norrie into the quarterfinals, top seeds such as Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz will surely want to join them. The remaining four matches of the second round will take place, and the matches should be exciting.

ATP Queen’s Club Day 4 Predictions

Alex De Minaur vs Diego Schwartzman

Head-to-head: First meeting

Schwartzman’s had a pretty dire season so far, but this tournament has looked like a potential turnaround for the Argentine. Ironically on his worst surface, Schwartzman swept past American Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets. However, while the Argentine should play well in this match, De Minaur has too much experience on the grass, evident in his comprehensive win over home-favorite Andy Murray. The Aussie should prevail comfortably.

Grigor Dimitrov vs Francisco Cerundolo

Head-to-head: First meeting

Aside from a quick loss to Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros, June has been a great month for Dimitrov. When consistent, Dimitrov can play flawless and exciting tennis on the grass, especially with his shotmaking capabilities. Cerundolo played well to surprise Tommy Paul in Round 1, as his forehand can do a lot of damage on the grass. The Argentine has a solid game that translates to fast courts, but Dimitrov’s grass court experience predates Cerundolo’s entire career. Look for Dimitrov to take control in this one. Interestingly, Cerundolo is the higher-ranked player.
Prediction: Dimitrov in 2

Taylor Fritz vs Adrian Mannarino

Head-to-head: 2-2

This will be an interesting encounter given both players completely contrast one another on court. With Fritz’s big serve and spin, it’ll be interesting to see how he fares against Mannarino’s low-bouncing shots. Fritz won their most recent meeting in Delray Beach, but this is a whole new climate. The American also seemed a bit shaky in his opener against Miralles, a player without much grass court experience. Fritz’s Top 10 status should help him grind through this match, but it most likely won’t be easy.
Prediction: Fritz in 3

Carlos Alcaraz vs Jiri Lehecka

Head-to-head: First meeting

In the third match of the day featuring a new matchup alert, this one rings bells the most as an exciting future rivalry. Lehecka played very well to defeat Davidovich Fokina, consistently wearing down his opponent. Meanwhile, it was almost good to see Alcaraz struggle in his opening match, as he had to utilize his fighting instinct to push him through a tough match. Dealing with a third-set tiebreak already should take pressure off the Spaniard, as it could help Alcaraz cruise through this match. Expect some exciting highlights from both, however.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
