Day six at the ATP Indian Wells Masters promises to be an entertaining one. There are eight third-round matches on the schedule and, as always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match, including Jack Draper vs Andy Murray. But who will reach the fourth round?
ATP Indian Wells Day 6 Predictions
Hubert Hurkacz v Tommy Paul
Head-to-head: Hurkacz 1-0 Paul
This one is much closer in ranking than the seedings suggest. The Pole and the American have only played once before at the Paris Masters back in 2021. In that match Hurkacz edged through a very close match, that could have gone either way. Both had straight set wins in round two, having a bye in the first round. Hurkacz and Paul are very evenly matched so it will be a close match.
Prediction: Paul in 3

Alex Molcan v Marton Fucsovics
Head-to-head: first meeting
Neither of these players are seeded, but they have both had a similar route to this point. Molcan and Fucsovics both defeated seeded players in the second round to land this match up. The Slovakian and Hungarian have never met on the main tour, so this will be their first official match up. Both risk the seed bounce after last round, but they both can’t win and both can’t lose, so one of them progresses. It’s going to a be a very close match this one.
Prediction: Molcan in 3

Stan Wawrikna v Holger Rune
Head-to-head: Rune 1-0 Wawrinka
The Swiss and Dane played each other at the first round at the ATP Paris-Bercy Masters last season, with Holger Rune eventually getting the better of Wawrinka over three sets. The Swiss, who is not the force he once was, the Swiss has missed quite a lot of tennis due to injuries and surgeries and at 37 may be running out of time for more titles. Rune will obviously be the favourite here, but don’t discount Wawrinka who can spring a surprise, after all, the Swiss took out a seed last round.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 3

Carlos Alcaraz v Tallon Griekspoor
Head-to-head: Alcaraz 2-1 Griekspoor
The Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz will be favourite for this, being the top seed. Tallon Griekspoor though will be looking to level up the head-to-head. The pair have met once on the main tour, and twice in qualifying events (back in 2021) and Alcaraz has won the last two meetings. Griekspoor won their very first meeting back in Montpellier in 2021. However, since then, Alcaraz has outplayed the Dutchman every time and won in straight sets. This won’t be any different this time.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
