ATP Los Cabos Final Prediction – Daniil Medvedev vs Cameron Norrie

Cameron Norrie in action at the ATP Los Cabos Open.

In what promises to be an entertaining conclusion to the ATP Los Cabos Open, world #1 Daniil Medvedev will take on the third seeded Cameron Norrie for the title in Mexico. Both men will surely have high hopes of making a real impact over the North American hard-court summer and winning this title would be the perfect start to their summer. But who will come out on top?

ATP Los Cabos Final Prediction

Daniil Medvedev vs Cameron Norrie

Head-to-head: Medvedev 1-0 Norrie

Medvedev has looked assured so far at the ATP Los Cabos Open. The Russian, who was unsurprisingly the pre-tournament favourite, has not yet dropped a set after victories over Rinky Hijikata, Ricardas Berankis and Miomir Kecmanovic. The Serbian did test him at times in their semifinal and forced a first-set tiebreak. But Medvedev dominated it, winning it without losing a point, before cruising through the second set to complete a 7-6 6-1 win.

Norrie, meanwhile, arrived in Los Cabos fresh from reaching his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon and he has maintained the momentum he built at the All England Club. He trashed Tseng Chun-hsin for the loss of only three games in his first match of the week and secured his spot in the semifinals with a 6-3 7-6 win over Radu Albot. Norrie then claimed his first win over Felix Auger-Aliassime in five meetings, beating the Canadian 6-4 3-6 6-3.

This will be Medvedev and Norrie’s second meeting. The Russian won the first, in Shanghai three years ago, at a canter, but it may well be less straightforward for him this time around. Norrie has improved considerably in the intervening period and is surely full of confidence. Unfortunately for the Briton, Medvedev has also improved. Admittedly not as much, but he was starting from a higher base level. Expect Norrie to win more than four games, but for Medvedev to win in two.

Prediction: Medvedev in 2
