WTA Madrid Day 3 Predictions Including Coco Gauff vs Yulia Putintseva

Second round action from Madrid sees home Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, and fan favorite Coco Gauff in action. We have predictions for every round second round match from the Spanish capital including Simona Halep vs Paula Badosa.

Marie Bouzkova vs Dayana Yastremska

Bouzkova upset Karolina Pliskova in the opening round after qualifying, she also qualified for Miami and Indian Wells and won Guadalajara, she’s playing some excellent tennis and excelling at high level tournaments right now. Yastremska had an easier path to the second round even though she also enters as a qualifier. She was a finalist in Lyon earlier this year and certainly has upside to her game, Bouzkova is looking like the in-form player of the moment though. Bouzkova in 2

Nuria Parrizas Diaz vs Ekaterina Alexandrova

Alexandrova qualified then upset the seeded Jelena Ostapenko in a competitive round 1 tilt. The Charleston semifinalist is having a nice run on clay, Diaz has struggled since reaching the semifinals in Monterrey but is still a capable player. I like Alexandrova’s form better, and presuming she’s not worn down, she should be able to secure this win. Alexandrova in 2

Ons Jabeur vs Varvara Gracheva

Jabeur reached the Charleston final and is very much playing like a top 10 player, Gracheva is a qualifier and it’s been a solid run after a relatively poor season overall. That run should end here though, Jabeur looks like too strong of an opponent to beat. Jabeur in 2

Coco Gauff vs Yulia Putintseva

Gauff won their only meeting last year on clay in Rome, Gauff is just 11-9 on the season, well off her 34-16 mark in 2021 that was quite memorable. She hasn’t reached the later stages of a tournament since February in Doha. Putintseva was a semifinalist in Istanbul and already beat American Shelby Rogers this week, both players are talented but a bit unpredictable right now. I’ll go with Putintseva on this surface, her form looks slightly better. Putintseva in 2
