ATP Barcelona Day 3 Predictions Including Alex de Minaur vs Ugo Humbert

Alex De Minaur 2021 AO

Second-round action heats up on Day 3 of the ATP Barcelona Open Banc Sabedell as 11 matches take place across the grounds. As always, we here at LWOT will be sharing our thoughts on every match. We split up all 11 matches between three articles. One article features Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Ilya Ivashka, and the other features Carlos Alcaraz vs Kwon Soon-woo. Who do you think will win?

ATP Barcelona Day 3 Predictions

Pablo Carreno Busta vs Bernabe Zapata Miralles

This should be a fun match between two solid clay court players. Carreno Busta is much further along in his career and generally more solid, but Zapata Miralles is rising and a potential threat to just about anyone on this surface. Still, you have to think Carreno Busta is the more likely winner right now.
Prediction: Carreno Busta in 2

Lloyd Harris vs Albert Ramos-Vinolas

Harris had an impressive 2021 season but hasn’t quite been at those heights so far in 2022. Also, the South African isn’t quite as strong on clay as on hard courts. Ramos-Vinolas, meanwhile, has been quietly playing the most solid tennis of his career for quite a while now.
Prediction: Ramos-Vinolas in 3

Alex de Minaur vs Ugo Humbert

This is a great matchup on any surface, though it’s somewhat less fun on clay than it would be on faster courts. Two potential future Major contenders will be duking it out on the red dirt in Barcelona. Humbert is better on clay, but de Minaur seems to have progressed further and has been slightly more consistent recently–though that isn’t saying too much for these two.
Prediction: de Minaur in 3
