We here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, including Taylor Fritz vs Jack Sock, featured in a separate article. But who will advance?

ATP Dallas Day 3 Predictions

Adrian Mannarino vs Steve Johnson

Head-to-head: Mannarino 1-4 Johnson

Adrian Mannarino and Steve Johnson meet for the sixth time in Round 1 of the 2022 Dallas Open. Johnson holds the 4-1 head-to-head lead, winning the last four meetings between the two. Steve Johnson has seen a lot of success against lefties on tour, winning 61.7 percent of his matches against them. Both veterans have had solid starts to their 2022 seasons. Mannarino made a fourth round run in the Australian Open, defeating Hubert Hurkacz and Aslan Karatsev along the way. Johnson holds a 5-3 record this season in all competitions. These two should give us a good battle, but I see the five seed coming out on top.
Prediction: Mannarino in 3

Daniel Altmaier vs Andreas Seppi

Head-to-head: First meeting

Young German Daniel Altmaier and Italian veteran Andreas Seppi finish out the round one matches in Dallas. This will be their first meeting. Altmaier is coming off of a nice quarterfinal run in Pune while Seppi has failed to pick up a main draw win this season. Altmaier is the more in form player and will look to set up his forehand to finish off points against the 37-year-old Italian. These two are on the opposite ends of their careers, and that should show in this day three match.
Prediction: Altmaier in 2

Jordan Thompson vs Brandon Nakashima

Head-to-head: Thompson 0-2 Nakashima

Australian Jordan Thompson and American Brandon Nakashima kick off the second round of the Dallas open. They had two solid hard court battles during the 2021 season with Nakashima coming out on top during both. Both Thompson and Nakashima won their first first round matches in straight sets, playing some solid tennis along the way. The American has a deadly two-handed backhand that has been locked in as of late. That shot alone gives him a slight advantage over Thompson.
Prediction: Nakashima in 3
