ATP Pune Day 4 Predictions Including Stefano Travaglia vs Yuki Bhambri

Yuki Bhambri

The rest of the quarterfinal line-up in Pune will be finalised with Day 4 ATP action, where top seed Aslan Karatsev, defending champion Jiri Vesely, and Indian comeback star Yuki Bhambri will all play their second-round matches. As always, we here at LWOT will preview and predict every match. Who do you think will win?

ATP Pune Day 4 Predictions

Emil Ruusuvuori vs Vit Kopriva

H2H: first meeting

Ruusuvuori defeated Egor Gerasimov in the first round, holding his nerve in a difficult second set tiebreak that ended 13-11, saving five set points. His next opponent is qualifier Vit Kopriva, who has beaten the top two Turkish players, Altug Celikbilek and Cem Ilkel back-to-back here. Both players are in solid form but the Finn has power to take the match out of his opponent’s hands here and should be the favorite.
Prediction: Ruusuvuori in 2

Bernabe Zapata Mirallles vs Jiri Vesely

H2H: first meeting

Zapata Miralles got his first win of the year over Dennis Novak in the first round, capitalizing particularly on the Austrian’s second serve. Vesely is defending a title here from 2020 and there is a lot at stake for the Czech as he is likely to drop out of the Top 100 if he doesn’t take the title. The amount of pressure on Vesely along with his previous success in Pune should make him a favorite here. Though if Vesely’s game is just not firing, the consistency of Zapata Miralles might cause him trouble.
Prediction: Vesely in 3

Aslan Karatsev vs Elias Ymer

H2H: first meeting

The top seed enters the tournament as probably the biggest favorite for the title, especially considering his form. Karatsev is 6-1 on the year, winning the title in Sydney and a third-round run at the Australian Open. His opponent is qualifier Elias Ymer, who defeated Gian Marco Moroni 6-4 in the third in the first round. The Swede beat Dimitar Kuzmanov and Marc Polmans in qualifying before, both in straight sets. Karatsev should not have too many problems with Ymer here.
Prediction: Karatsev in 2

Yuki Bhambri vs Stefano Travaglia

H2H: first meeting

Bhambri got his first Tour-level win since Miami 2018 in style, defeating Jozef Kovalik in a three-hour classic in the first round. The 29-year-old is one of the most intriguing stories of this tournament as he tries to re-establish himself on tour. Next up is eighth seed Stefano Travaglia, who also had a difficult first round, getting pushed to three sets by Ramkumar Ramanathan. It’s a hard match to predict, but I do think this match will go long with Bhambri ultimately pulling through.
Prediction: Bhambri in 3
