Jaqueline Cristian vs Alison Van Uytvanck
Head-to-head: first meeting
Cristian struggled to her first win over qualifier Natalia Vikhlyantseva before notching an impressive victory in three sets over eighth seed Clara Burel. The Romanian then defeated former No. 39 Aleksandra Krunic in straight sets to reach the semifinals. Second seed Alison Van Uytvanck defeated wild card Zhibek Kulambayeva, former Top 50 player Anna-Lena Friedsam, and seventh seed Varvara Gracheva. Cristian has been able to produce some big wins such as her two wins over Burel or upset over Jelena Ostapenko, so she could pull off the upset again.
Prediction: Cristian in 2
Yulia Putintseva vs Rebecca Peterson
Head-to-head: 2-2
Putintseva reached the semifinals without a Top 150 win. She defeated Ekaterina Gorgodze, Vera Lapko, and Anastasia Gasanova, against whom she dropped her only set of the tournament so far. Peterson had a tougher road to the semifinals as she defeated Stefanie Voegele, Zarina Diyas, and Anastasia Potapova. Putintseva has had the easier road and won the last two meetings between two, so she should be the favorite in front of the home crowd, though the match will not be easy.
