ATP Washington Day 3 Predictions Including Kei Nishikori vs Alexander Bublik

Alexander Bublik Dubai

Kei Nishikori vs Alexander Bublik and Taylor Fritz vs Denis Kudla are exciting matchups on day 3 of the ATP Washington Citi Open. We also have predictions for matches featuring Rafael Nadal and Jannik Sinner at this ATP 500 tournament.

Kei Nishikori vs Alexander Bublik

Nishikori scored a routine win over Sam Querrey in the opening round and is playing good tennis right now. Bublik is a strong opponent though, he reached the semifinals in Newport, and before that quarterfinals in Madrid, Miami, and and Eastbourne (plus two ATP finals at the start of the season). Bublik’s opening round Olympic loss shouldn’t hinder him too much and he should have an edge to end Nishikori’s run here. Bublik in 3

Taylor Fritz vs Denis Kudla

Kudla has won two of three meetings against Fritz, this is the home ATP tournament for Kudla and he enjoys playing in DC, as shown by his round 1 win against Feliciano Lopez, Fritz comes off the semifinals in Atlanta and Los Cabos though and has two other ATP semifinals this season, while Kudla hasn’t been able to post the same impressive results. Kudla will compete, but Fritz should be the winner in the end. Fritz in 2

Mackenzie McDonald vs Benoit Paire

Paire won their only meeting (Lyon, France on clay in 2019), McDonald scored a great win over Nick Kyrgios in the opening round, he also qualified for Wimbledon and the French Open, along with success on the Challenger Tour. Paire reached quarters in Hamburg and Gstaad, but retired in the third set of his last match in Atlanta. The Frenchman is capable but fitness has to be a question and consistency has never been his strong suit. McDonald can ride the momentum from his opening match win into the quarterfinals. McDonald in 2
