The quarterfinals will be set in Kitzbuhel with a full slate of round 2 action on deck. We have all your predictions including predictions for matches featuring Roberto Bautista Agut and Filip Krajinovic.
Holger Rune vs Arthur Rinderknech
Rinderknech’s recent record got even better after he routinely dispatched Federico Delbonis, a good clay court player, in the opening round. Rune has yet to score a big ATP breakthrough but he did get past Stefano Travaglia in round 1 and looked solid. This has the makings of a quality matchup, but Rinderknech is playing better at the moment and should make another quarterfinal. Rinderknech in 2
Gianluca Mager vs Albert Ramos-Vinolas
The Estoril champion and Umag semifinalist Ramos is playing excellent on his favorite surface, clay, Mager had a recent challenger semifinal and has been solid on tour this year but Ramos on clay should be a different caliber of opposition than he’s used to beating. Ramos-Vinolas in 2
Daniel Altmaier vs Marco Cecchinato
Cecchinato won their only meeting recently in Geneva on clay, Altmaier beat Laslo Djere in three sets after reaching the semis in Umag, Cecchinato hasn’t made the same impressive runs lately but he did ease past Radu Albot in the first round. In addition to the h2h edge, Cecchinato should have less fatigue than Altmaier. Cecchinato in 3
Casper Ruud vs Mario Vilella Martinez
Martinez snuck past local player Lukas Neumayer in three sets, Ruud is on an incredible winning streak, with Bastad and Gstaad titles back to back and previous titles in Geneva and Buenos Aires this season (plus the Santiago ATP final). Ruud is playing the best tennis of his career right now, Martinez is unlikely to have a chance unless Ruud is unfit. Ruud in 2
