Federico Delbonis French Open

Day 2 at ATP Kitzbuhel sees the first round complete, we have predictions for all of your matches on Austrian clay, including Marco Cecchinato’s match.

Arthur Rinderknech vs Federico Delbonis

Rinderknech is on quite a run, at a career high ranking in the top 100 he comes off the quarters in both Bastad and Gstaad, this is his first year playing regularly on the ATP Tour and it’s been a memorable one. Delbonis was a semifinalist in Hamburg and Belgrade and reached the quarters in Rome. This has been an excellent year on tour for the Argentine as well. Rinderknech would beat a lot of players right now, but beating Delbonis on clay still looks tough. This should be a great match. Delbonis in 3

Stefano Travaglia vs Holger Rune

Rune qualified here after some success on the challenger tour recently including the title in Biella and a final in Oeiras. The young player is very promising, while Travaglia comes off the quarters in Umag and has more ATP wins this year than any year previous in his career. Rune has a great future, but on clay Travaglia should be the slight favorite in this match. Travaglia in 3

Laslo Djere vs Daniel Altmaier

Altmaier qualified in Umag and reached the semis after winning a challenger recently in Braunschweig on clay. Djere was a semifinalist in both Hamburg and Gstaad, and a quarterfinalist in Geneva. Altmaier is playing well but fatigue could be a factor and Djere is not going to be easy to beat on clay right now. This is a good clay court matchup. Djere in 3

Alexander Erler vs Carlos Alcaraz

Erler has no experience on the ATP Tour level, Alcaraz is at a career high ranking of #55, he won Umag and has a challenger title this year on clay as well. Alcaraz could be fatigued, but he’s playing fantastic right now and Erler is unlikely to offer much resistance in the opening round. Alcaraz in 2
