ATP Eastbourne Day 2 Predictions Including Frances Tiafoe vs Liam Broady

Tennis continues from the grass courts of the UK on Tuesday, after rain washed out play on Monday. British players Alastair Gray and Liam Broady are on the match card, with Broady taking on talented American Frances Tiafoe. We also have predictions for matches featuring Alexander Bublik and James Ward.

Alastair Gray vs Ilya Ivashka

Ivashka is putting together an excellent qualifying record for these grass court events, he was a lucky loser in Stuttgart, then qualified for Halle and Eastbourne as he’s put together a solid season so far on tour. Gray got a qualifying wild card and makes this draw as a lucky loser, Gray’s professional record is extremely limited, but he’s the top singles player for TCU in NCAA college tennis where he has found plenty of success. Ivashka’s resume is simply much stronger though and an upset doesn’t look to be in the cards. Ivashka in 2

Frances Tiafoe vs Liam Broady

Broady at 1-4 has struggled at tour level this year but he’s been great just below that in the challengers and ATP qualification stage. He reached a career high ranking just inside the top 140 recently. Tiafoe is taking on a home player after winning the Nottingham challenger on grass, and also reaching the quarterfinals at Queen’s club. With Tiafoe in great form on grass he can win this tournament, and getting past Broady doesn’t look to be overly difficult. Tiafoe in 2

Marton Fucsovics vs Aljaz Bedene

Bedene leads the h2h 2-0, his grass court record isn’t spectacular but he’s 13-13 on the season, Fucsovics is 16-13 but has struggled even worse on the grass. Given the h2h, it’s advantage Bedene in what is otherwise a coin flip matchup, the surface slightly favors his game. Bedene in 3
