It will either be the second title of the season for Andrey Rublev, or the third title for Ugo Humbert depending on the outcome of the ATP Halle final on grass courts in Germany. Here is your preview of this intriguing final match.
Ugo Humbert vs Andrey Rublev
It’s their third career meeting, with Rublev winning the previous two matches and having a much longer resume than his opponent on the ATP tour. Humbert’s run to the final has been exhausting and thrilling, he’s won all of his matches in three sets with wins over Sam Querrey, an upset over Alexander Zverev in round 2, then Sebastian Korda and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals and semifinals respectively. The win over FAA came in a third set tiebreak. Rublev didn’t drop a set until he needed three sets to beat Nikoloz Basilashvili in the semfinals. His previous wins came against Karen Khachanov, Jordan Thompson, and Philipp Kohlschreiber.
For as impressive of a run as Humbert is on, making anything possible, Rublev is a clear favorite in terms of resume and form, and the fact he has two previous h2h wins indicates he will be the likely victor. Rublev in 2
